The work of ORAN is based on the exploration of inhabited landscapes.
Using their own places of residence as a starting point, they define research protocols and actions so as to question and better understand local societal objectives and tensions. By infiltrating a social, political and economic context they engage in a collaborative undertaking which implicates the very fabric of society. It is thus, through collaboration with government organisations, public associations and informal action groups, that they remain connected to the mutliple realities which form the contemporary landscape.
The aim of their projects is not to find a solution to problems but to create an artistic event which will touch people in all walks of life. The movement of objects and ideas is central to their performances and installations. The images resulting from these experiences leave in their wake a knowledge of society that is in constant evolution.
